After overcoming numerous hurdles, the police administration conducted a major operation at the Teibandal Gamai Chhara rubber plantation. During the raid, large drums and packets buried underground were recovered — all filled with dry ganja. The seized ganja was brought to Melaghar Police Station, where it was weighed and found to be 720 kilograms in total. Needless to say, this marks a major success in the police’s anti-narcotics drive.

During the operation, personnel from Melaghar Police Station, TSR, and the STF participated. Based on a tip-off, the police had prior information that large quantities of ganja were hidden underground in a secluded area within the forest department’s rubber plantation at Teibandal Gamai Chhara.

People from the locality have praised the police for this significant operation. In an exclusive interview, District Police Officer Bijoy Debbarma stated that those involved in drug trafficking should be cautious, as drugs are destroying the youth and society at large. He also added that such anti-narcotics operations will continue in the coming days.

During the interview, Assistant Officers and Sonamura Police officials were also present alongside Officer Bijoy Debbarma. In short, this is one of the biggest achievements of Melaghar Police Station in recent times.
