Last December, NCC Police Station arrested six motorcycle thieves along with two stolen bikes. After bringing the arrested thieves on police remand and interrogating them, the police obtained several crucial pieces of information. Based on this information, on Friday the Officer-in-Charge of Abhayanagar Outpost under NCC Police Station, Zainal Hossain, conducted a raid in the Konaban area under Madhupur Police Station.

During the operation, the police officer noticed several people fleeing on seeing the police near the front of a forest, which raised his suspicion. He then carried out a search operation inside the Konaban forest. During the search, four stolen motorcycles were recovered from inside the forest. One thief was also detained in connection with the incident.
On Saturday, SDPO Subrata Barman of NCC Police Station informed the media about the development. He stated that among the four motorcycles recovered from the forest, two belonged to Bishalgarh, one to Teliamura, and the other to Gandacherra. The bikes had been hidden in the forest with the intention of smuggling them to Bangladesh.

On the same day, SDPO Subrata Barman further informed that a gold chain was snatched from the Goyalabasti area in December. The accused involved in the incident were arrested and interrogated, following which the stolen gold chain was recovered. He also added that, as per court orders, the recovered motorcycles and the gold ornament will be handed over to their rightful owners.
