A biker lost his life after being hit by a minister’s escort vehicle. The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon in the Lockdown Choumuhani area under Bishalgarh Police Station.

According to sources, Minister Shuklacharan Noatia was travelling from Agartala via Bishalgarh to attend an official government programme. While his convoy reached the Lockdown Choumuhani area, a middle-aged man suddenly attempted to cross the national highway at high speed on a bike. At that moment, the biker collided head-on with the lead escort vehicle of the minister.

The biker was seriously injured in the accident. His identity is yet to be ascertained; however, his age is estimated to be around 50 years. Immediately after the incident, Minister Shuklacharan Noatia stopped his vehicle, rushed to the spot, and arranged for the injured man to be taken to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital in the escort vehicle.

On the way to the hospital, a fire service vehicle intercepted the escort car and shifted the injured man to the sub-divisional hospital. The minister himself reached the hospital, spoke with the doctors, and instructed them to ensure prompt treatment. Speaking to journalists at Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital, Minister Noatia informed that the critically injured man had been referred to GB Hospital, Agartala, for advanced treatment. He appeared visibly shaken by the unexpected incident.

Later, the injured person was taken by ambulance from Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital to GB Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead. Doctors at GB Hospital told the media that the victim was brought in dead, with severe head injuries and multiple injury marks on other parts of his body.

The deceased’s name has not yet been identified. It is also reported that the biker was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Police from Bishalgarh Police Station have started an investigation into the incident.
