Blood donation is a noble act, and there is no alternative to blood. Alongside performing their official duties with dedication, fire service personnel stepped forward for the noble cause of blood donation. On the initiative of the Fire Services of Gomati and South districts, a voluntary blood donation camp was organised at the Shantir Bazar Fire Service office.

In addition to rescuing accident victims, providing medical assistance, controlling fires, and ensuring public safety, fire service personnel came forward to help address the shortage of blood. Everyone expressed special appreciation to the fire service personnel for organising such a programme. The personnel of the Shantir Bazar Fire Service always work with sincerity, and on this day they enthusiastically participated in blood donation.

The blood donation camp, organised by the Fire Service Department, was formally inaugurated by Minister Sukla Charan Noatia by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Besides the inaugurator, those present at the camp included Shantir Bazar Assembly constituency MLA Pramod Reang, Director of the Fire Service Department Uttam Mondal, Shantir Bazar Municipal Council Chairperson Sapna Baidya, Vice Chairperson Satyabrata Saha, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Shantir Bazar Sanjeeb Chakma, eminent social worker Debashish Bhowmik, and others.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Sukla Charan Noatia said that fire service personnel always risk their lives to extend a helping hand to people in distress, and now they have further come forward to help society by donating their own blood. Through his speech, the minister thanked the fire service personnel for participating in blood donation. He also stated that blood cannot be purchased with money, and even the government cannot procure blood from the Centre through budgetary provisions. To overcome the blood shortage, everyone must voluntarily come forward to donate blood.

He further mentioned that the Chief Minister of the state continuously appeals to people to participate in voluntary blood donation. The minister thanked all concerned for organising the voluntary blood donation camp in response to the Chief Minister’s call.

On the other hand, MLA Pramod Reang, while speaking at the programme, assured that he would extend support from his special fund for the development of the fire service. It was planned that a total of 70 people would donate blood at the camp, and people participated with great enthusiasm.
