A tragic death occurred when a truck driver was struck by the sideboard of a tipper truck. The deceased driver has been identified as Ripon Das. The heartbreaking incident took place on Thursday morning at the SRB brick kiln in Jirania, West Tripura district.

According to reports, Ripon Das was a tipper truck driver engaged in transporting bricks from the concerned brick kiln. He was a resident of Kailashahar. Like any other day, bricks were being loaded onto his tipper truck at the SRB brick kiln when suddenly one of the vehicle’s sideboards came loose and hit him on the head. Ripon Das collapsed on the spot. Others present rushed to rescue him and took him to Ranirbazar Sub-Divisional Hospital. Due to his critical condition, he was referred to GB Hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to GB Hospital. Another worker from the brick kiln later informed about his death at GB Hospital.

Meanwhile, after the incident, the brick kiln manager and others accompanied the injured Ripon Das up to Ranirbazar Hospital. But realizing the seriousness of his condition, they reportedly left without going to GB Hospital. This attitude of the brick kiln authorities has angered the other workers.
