A private school bus from Monfort School met with an accident along the National Highway near Amtali Bypass area.

A tragic road accident involving several students of Monfort School occurred on Friday morning at Kathaltali Bypass Road when a school bus lost control and met with an accident.
According to locals, a loud crash was heard suddenly. People rushed out of their houses to find the school bus overturned by the roadside. In the impact, a woman was hit and thrown onto the road. She was later identified as Khola Sarkar (52). Reports said she had been feeding her goats near the rail bridge area, as she did every day, when the accident took place.
Locals immediately rushed her to Hapania Hospital, and later she was referred to GB Hospital, but doctors could not save her life.
Meanwhile, eight to nine students of Monfort School were injured in the accident. They were admitted to Hapania Hospital, and according to doctors, all of them are currently out of danger.

Upon receiving the news, Jayanti Debbarma, Chairperson of the Tripura Commission for Protection of Child Rights, personally visited the hospital. She inquired about the medical care and treatment of the injured students and spoke with their family members.
The incident has cast a shadow of grief over the area. Locals have urged the administration to strengthen road safety measures to prevent such accidents in the future.
