“A Strong and United India Is Possible by Following Swamiji’s Ideals of Youth Power: Chief Minister.”

Monday marked the 163rd birth anniversary of the great monk Swami Vivekananda. Across the country, the day is observed as National Youth Day. The state-level programme to mark National Youth Day was held at Nazrul Kalakshetra in the state capital.


The Chief Minister attended the programme as the chief guest, while Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Tinku Roy was present as the special guest. Also present were Secretary of the State Sports and Youth Welfare Department Dr. P. K. Chakraborty, Director of the department L. Darlong, and other dignitaries.


The main programme began with the offering of floral tributes to Swamiji’s portrait. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that Swami Vivekananda is known to all and led an extraordinary life. Even today, he remains an icon for the youth of the country. The Chief Minister further stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working by drawing inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts and ideals.

Highlighting various aspects of Swamiji’s philosophy, the Chief Minister said that youth are the driving force of the nation. If the youth of the country follow the ideals of Swami Vivekananda, only then will “One India, Best India” and “One Tripura, Best Tripura” become possible.


Speaking at the programme, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Tinku Roy called upon the youth to come forward in nation-building by drawing inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s ideology.
