Agartala–Silchar Express begins halt at Mungiakami, opening new horizons in connectivity.

Breaking a long-standing demand, the Agartala–Silchar Express (Train No. 15663/15664) has started halting at Mungiakami Railway Station from Saturday. This decision is being hailed as a historic milestone for the people of Mungiakami and the surrounding areas.
The matter was raised with Union Rail Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw by State Minister Bikash Debbarma, emphasizing public convenience, improvement in connectivity, and overall regional development. As a result of the minister’s sincere efforts, approval was granted for the train to halt at Mungiakami Station. Minister Bikash Debbarma expressed his gratitude to the Union Rail Minister on this occasion.
With the halt now operational, residents of Mungiakami and nearby areas are expected to experience significant ease in daily travel. In addition, the move is anticipated to boost access to education, healthcare services, and economic activities in the region.
Officials and stakeholders believe that this initiative marks the beginning of a stronger railway connectivity network and strengthens the foundation for inclusive regional development in the future.
