A three-day state-wide school-based yoga competition 2025-26 has begun at the Manubazar Bashundhara Forest Awareness Center under Sabroom subdivision with the message of maintaining balance of mind and body, discipline, self-control, and building a healthy society. This major competition is organized by the Sabroom Sub-Divisional Youth Affairs and Sports Department.
At the beginning of the program, a beautiful rally from Manubazar English Medium School reached the Bashundhara Forest Awareness Center.

There, students from eight districts and sports schools of the state stood in a row and hoisted the state and district flags. After the national anthem, the first part of the inaugural ceremony ended with the oath-taking ceremony. In the second phase, State Minister Shuklacharan Noatia officially inaugurated the competition by lighting the lamp.South District District President Deepak Dutta, Subdistrict Police Officer Nityanand Sarkar, South District Sports Officer Ritesh Shil, Subdistrict Sports Officer Jimmy Debbarma, and social worker Gaurang Bhowmik were present as special guests at the event. Partha Chakraborty, Deputy Chief of Manubazar Gram Panchayat, presided over the event.
Minister Shuklacharan Noatia said in his speech, "Yoga is not just a physical exercise, it is a combination of our mind, ethics, and philosophy of life."

"Yoga makes people calm, healthy and balanced even in the busy and stressful times of modern life." District President Deepak Dutta emphasized the need to make yoga education mandatory at the school level.
Students from various schools mesmerized the audience by performing beautiful yoga poses. Cultural programs were also held.
A total of 93 male and 109 female students participated in this competition — in three categories (ages 14, 17, and 19), for a total of 202 participants.
Yoga is not just a sport today, it is a way of life — this message seemed to spread to every corner of the Bashundhara Forest Awareness Center in Manubazar. Everyone present is hoping that this three-day festival will infuse a new life into the body, mind and society.
