Another daring theft has taken place in East Kadamtala Ward No. 3 under Kadamtala Gram Panchayat, within the jurisdiction of Kadamtala Police Station. The incident has spread widespread panic and concern among local residents.

According to reports, the victim is Tapan Malakar, son of late Jalnadhar Malakar, a resident of the area who works as a driver. On Sunday evening, the house owner’s wife, Krishna Malakar, locked the door of their house and went to the nearby Kalachand Temple to attend the weekly kirtan. At that time, the house was completely vacant.

Taking advantage of the situation, a group of thieves broke the tin boundary of the house and entered inside. When Krishna Malakar returned home, she found the door lock broken and immediately informed the neighbors. Upon receiving the information, local residents and elected representatives of Kadamtala Gram Panchayat rushed to the spot.

On entering the house, it was found that the main door lock of the living room had been broken and all the lockers of the almirah were smashed, with household items scattered all over the room. The thieves reportedly made off with cash worth ₹70,000, two pairs of gold earrings, one ring, six bangles, two pairs of anklets, along with other valuable items kept in the almirah.

After being informed, a police team from Kadamtala Police Station, led by SI Manik Dutta, promptly arrived at the scene and started an investigation. The probe is underway based on a written complaint filed by the house owner.

With incidents of theft increasing day by day in the Kadamtala Police Station area, an atmosphere of fear has gripped the entire locality. Police are conducting an intensive investigation to unravel the mystery behind the theft and identify the accused.
