In a major breakthrough, police seized a large quantity of heroin-like narcotics and arrested three youths during an anti-drug operation near Udaipur Railway Station.

According to police officials, they had received a tip-off about ongoing drug trafficking activities in the station area. Acting on the information, a special team led by the Officer-in-Charge of Udaipur Police Station conducted a raid in the vicinity. During the operation, three suspects were found loitering suspiciously. Upon searching them, the police recovered heroin-like substances worth an estimated ₹5 lakh in the market.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Shazmul Islam (22), Farid Akhtar (23), and Selim Uddin (36) — the latter being a BSF personnel. Preliminary investigation suggests that all three are part of an interstate drug smuggling network.

Sources reveal that the group used the railway route to transport narcotics to various parts of the state. The Radhakishorepur Police Station has launched a detailed investigation into the case, suspecting the involvement of a larger organized syndicate.

Police officials stated that several successful anti-narcotics operations have been carried out in Udaipur subdivision in recent months. Authorities have also reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying such drives in the future to protect the youth from the grip of drug addiction.
