Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the Government of Tripura has been working tirelessly for the all-round development of the tribal communities. To make the tribal people aware of various central and state schemes, workers have been appointed at both the sub-divisional and district levels.

The Chief Minister further informed that from October 2, 2024, a new project titled Dharti Aabha Tribal Village Development Campaign has been launched across the state in line with the rest of the country. A total of ₹81.69 crore has been allocated for this initiative. To ensure the proper implementation of various tribal welfare schemes, different ministers from the state cabinet have been assigned responsibilities for different districts.

He added that such initiatives are accelerating the pace of development. As evidence, Tripura has been recognized as the best-performing state in the country for the successful implementation of the Dharti Aabha Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan.

The Chief Minister also noted that earlier, only a handful of doctors and engineers from tribal communities were in service, but now, members of these communities are holding responsible positions in every department of the state.

He emphasized that development is impossible without education. To this end, 21 Eklavya Model Residential Schools are being established in the state, 12 of which are already operational, and six more will be launched by March next year. He also mentioned that during his recent visit to Delhi, he requested the establishment of 15 additional such schools for Tripura.

Touching upon recent issues, the Chief Minister said that certain conspiracies are being hatched to hinder the proper growth of the next generation of tribal communities. He expressed concern over the rising cases of HIV and AIDS among tribal youths and mentioned that awareness campaigns are ongoing.

The Chief Minister urged people from all sections of society to come forward and stand united to prevent such conspiracies.

He further stated that to ensure the holistic development of the tribal communities, the state government has started working by integrating 11 central schemes introduced by the Prime Minister.
