From Thursday, the Prantik Utsav has commenced, organized by the Prantik Club in Dhaleshwar, the capital city. The festival was inaugurated by the former Chief Minister and current Lok Sabha MP, Biplab Kumar Deb.

Also present at the event were Arindam Choudhury, President of the 9 Banmalipur Mandal Committee, Dr. Pradeep Bhowmik, Chairman of the Prantik Utsav Committee, Dilip Kumar Nath, President of Prantik Club, Divyendu Dutta, Secretary, and other dignitaries. The festival began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by MP Biplab Kumar Deb.

In his address, the former Chief Minister congratulated the organizers for taking the initiative to organize such cultural activities. He said that fairs, festivals, and cultural programmes enliven our social life, and that culture is one of the main ways to live with a positive mindset. He emphasized that promotions or money alone can never bring true satisfaction.

Speaking further, Biplab Kumar Deb remarked that the Left parties ruled the state for 30 to 35 years and during that period, they destroyed culture, causing significant damage to the state. He added that India’s culture is among the highest in the world, and it is the primary source of all our strength. According to him, the communists attacked this culture the most under the guise of secularism.

The Prantik Utsav, organized by the Prantik Club, includes various cultural programmes such as ‘Bose Aako’ (sit-and-draw) competitions, dance, singing, and recitation contests. These cultural competitions will continue over the next few days, with events organized according to different age groups.
