The two-day conference of the Association of Physicians of India (Tripura State Branch) began on Saturday at the Vivekananda Auditorium of Tripura Medical College, Hapania. The conference has been named TOPICON-2025.

The event was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Tripura and In-charge of the Health Department, Prof. Dr. Manik Saha. Among those present at the occasion were eminent physicians of the state, including Dr. Pradip Bhowmik, and several others.

In his inaugural address, the Chief Minister stated that organizations of medical professionals play an important role, as the government can seek valuable opinions and suggestions from them. He mentioned that the government has undertaken major initiatives to improve the state’s healthcare sector.

Comparing the functioning of the Health Department during the previous government’s tenure with that of the current government, Dr. Saha pointed out that the present administration is moving forward by consulting various organizations, whereas the previous government did not give due importance to such collaboration.

He further said that while medical associations naturally focus on professional demands and technological advancements, they should also think about the welfare of society. The Chief Minister emphasized that doctors must consider how to expand healthcare services more effectively across all sections of society.

During the two-day TOPICON-2025 conference, doctors from different districts and sub-divisions of Tripura are participating and engaging in detailed discussions on various medical topics.
