On Wednesday, the annual cultural program and prize distribution ceremony was held at Ishwar Pathshala English Medium School in the College tilla area of Agartala. Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee attended the event as the chief guest.
While addressing the gathering, MP Rajib Bhattacharjee said that Ishwar Pathshala English Medium School has long been playing an important role not only in providing quality education but also in the cultural and moral development of students. He emphasized that along with academic education, society and the surrounding environment must also be organized and protected.
He further said that although people often talk about initiatives like Swachh Bharat, tree plantation, and water conservation, many guardians tend to ignore these by considering them political opinions or programs. However, he clarified that these are not political views but major challenges for society. He warned that if today’s young children are not shown the right direction, the situation in the future will become even more critical.
Recalling the past, he mentioned that the College tilla area once had abundant greenery, but the absence of trees later led to severe oxygen shortages, which people experienced acutely during the COVID period. Therefore, he urged both children and guardians to come forward actively in tree plantation, cleanliness drives, and water conservation instead of neglecting these vital issues.
