It has been reported that Jiban Shil, a resident of Office Tilla under the jurisdiction of Bishalgarh Police Station, had long been running an illegal foreign liquor business from his home. The Bishalgarh police had received several reports about his activities but could not raid his house earlier due to a lack of concrete information.

Finally, acting on a tip-off, a team of police and TSR personnel led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Madhu Chakraborty conducted a raid at Jiban Shil’s residence in Office Tilla on Thursday afternoon. However, sensing the police’s arrival, the liquor trader managed to flee from the spot. Later, the police dug up the ground inside his house and recovered a large quantity of foreign liquor of various brands hidden underground.
