“The success of the anti-cannabis operation by the Bishalgarh Police. Compared to previous years, this year the Sipahijala District Police have shown special vigilance in anti-cannabis operations. This year, more anti-cannabis operations are being carried out by the police than ever before. With large police forces, raids are being conducted in multiple cannabis plantations, and one after another, the illegal empire of cannabis cultivators is being destroyed.

Similarly, on Saturday, under the leadership of Bishalgarh Police Station OC Bijay Das, a joint operation was carried out with a large police force, TSR personnel, and Border Security Force jawans in the Gojaria area under Bishalgarh Police Station—specifically in Chelikhala and Puranbari’s Ramchhara area. Led by OC Bijay Das, the massive security team and BSF jawans conducted the operation and managed to destroy approximately 70,000 cannabis plants spread across a total of 30 separate plots.

The operation continued from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. that day. Seeing the massive police presence, the cannabis cultivators fled their plantations and hid elsewhere, watching the destruction of their illegal cannabis gardens from the distant forest.

On that day, Bishalgarh Police Station OC Bijay Das said that the police have taken to the field with full dedication to fulfil the state government’s dream of building a drug-free Tripura. He further stated that if any more cannabis plantations are found in the Bishalgarh police station area, the police will take timely action to destroy all of them.”
