Four members of a bike theft gang arrested; five stolen motorcycles recovered.

Police of West Police Station bust a bike theft gang operating in the city. Four members of the gang have already been arrested, and five stolen motorcycles have been recovered from their possession.
On December 12, a motorcycle was stolen from the Lake Chowmuhani area of the capital. While investigating the case, the Officer-in-Charge of West Police Station, Rana Chatterjee, arrested one person from Ramnagar. During interrogation, police came across a gang involved in bike thefts across the capital.
On Sunday night, West Police Station police conducted a raid and arrested three more persons from the Lanka Mura area. Based on their interrogation, police were able to recover five stolen motorcycles. The arrested persons have been identified as Raju Shukla Das, Pradip Nam, Bishnu Debnath, and Surajit Debnath.
The information was shared at West Police Station by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Sadar subdivision, Debaprasad Roy.
The SDPO further stated that the names of two more persons linked to the gang have been identified and they will be arrested soon. He also added that the accused used the stolen motorcycles to carry out snatching incidents in different parts of the capital, and evidence supporting these allegations has also been found.
