Four youths detained in Kailashahar with a gun.

Panic spread around 10 PM on Sunday night in the Tilakpur area of Kailashahar town when local residents saw a gun in the hands of four youths. The incident took place near Unakoti Hospital in the Tilakpur locality. Residents surrounded the youths, who were roaming around suspiciously. Tension escalated immediately, and the crowd detained them and assaulted them.

The four detained youths are Dilwar Hossain, Arsad Ali, Suhel Mia, and Asraf Ali. All of them are residents of the Tilakpur and Dhepachhara areas of Kailashahar. After receiving information, the fire service personnel and later the police reached the spot, rescued the injured youths, and took them to Unakoti District Hospital. The four youths are currently undergoing treatment there.

Regarding the incident, Kailashahar Police Station OC Tapas Malakar said, “Based on complaints from the locals, we quickly reached Tilakpur. The crowd had already detained the four youths. Two guns were recovered from them. They were admitted to Unakoti District Hospital in injured condition. An investigation is underway, and all aspects of the incident are being thoroughly examined.”

Following the incident, panic spread across Tilakpur and the surrounding areas. Local residents expressed concerns about their safety. The police administration stated that the situation is under control and surveillance in the area has been further intensified.
