Every year on December 7, the country observes Armed Forces Flag Day in memory of the nation’s soldiers and the martyrs of the Indian Armed Forces. This day has been celebrated since 1949. Since December 7 falls on a Sunday this year, the fundraising campaign in the capital was held on Monday to mark Armed Forces Flag Day. Members of the Sainik Board took part in the campaign, along with NCC cadets. They visited various streets across the city to collect funds.
An NCC official stated that the funds collected ahead of Armed Forces Flag Day will be used to assist ex-servicemen and the families of those who sacrificed their lives defending the nation.

It is worth noting that this program is held nationwide to honor the selfless sacrifices of soldiers for the motherland. The fundraising campaign by Sainik Board members and NCC cadets ahead of Armed Forces Flag Day received an enthusiastic response from the public.
