Conducting raids across North Kolamchoura, Barmura, Bagan Bari, Pashaniya, and Takkamura areas, the team destroyed approximately 2,50,000 cannabis plants across 22 plots. Hundreds of personnel from the police, BSF, and women TSR force took part in this unprecedented operation.

During the operation, hundreds of local cannabis cultivators tried to block the roads to save the plantations, but ultimately failed. In the next phase, police entered the deep forests of the Pashaniya area and completely destroyed the cannabis fields. It has been learned that these plants would have been ready for full harvesting within a few days—however, the police successfully intervened before that.

OC Arup Debbarma has stated that such operations will continue in the coming days to build a drug-free society.
