Important meeting held on railway overbridge construction in Jirania, attended by Tourism Minister.

A key meeting was held on Thursday at the Jirania Sub-Divisional Commissioner’s Conference Hall to address issues related to the proposed railway overbridge construction at several critical locations in the Jirania Sub-Division, including the Majlishpur Assembly constituency. The overbridge is seen as an essential part of modern railway infrastructure, ensuring smooth train operations while making daily commuting safer and more convenient for the public.
The meeting was attended by State Tourism Minister Sushant Chowdhury, the Jirania Sub-Divisional Commissioner, local representatives at various levels, officials from the Transport Department, PWD (Roads & Buildings), the National Highways Department, and senior officials of the Northeast Frontier Railway, along with other concerned officers.
Discussions focused on ensuring pedestrian and vehicle safety during rail crossings, preventing accidents, and alleviating traffic congestion. Special attention was given to land acquisition issues, bridge design, coordination of transport systems, and inter-departmental cooperation required for the project.
Tourism Minister Sushant Chowdhury instructed all concerned departments to coordinate efficiently and resolve issues quickly to advance the project. He emphasized that such infrastructure development is crucial for public welfare and will significantly improve the overall connectivity and transportation system in the region.
The meeting concluded on an optimistic note, with officials expressing hope that the construction of the proposed railway overbridge will soon commence, making commuting safer and more convenient for residents of the Majlishpur Assembly constituency and the broader Jirania Sub-Division.
