In connection with the Jirania Phensedyl case, notorious drug trafficker Saurabh Tyagi from Uttar Pradesh has been sent to police remand. His police remand plea was heard on Saturday in the court of Judge Dharmendu Das. The court ordered that he be sent to police remand till December 26.
Saurabh was arrested by the Ghaziabad Police in an NDPS case and was brought to the state four days ago. According to the Crime Branch, Saurabh is the prime accused in transporting the Phensedyl consignments to Jirania railway station. It is alleged that Saurabh Tyagi supplies narcotic cough syrup to several states while operating from Uttar Pradesh.
He was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Police in an NDPS case and has also applied for bail in the Allahabad High Court in one of the cases. Now, in connection with the Jirania incident, officers of the State Police Crime Branch will interrogate him.
Currently, the Crime Branch is questioning Saurabh at NCC Police Station. Police believe that his interrogation may reveal the names of several members involved in an international Phensedyl trafficking network. At the same time, efforts are being made to gather information about others in Tripura who were involved in bringing Phensedyl in coordination with Saurabh.
