Japanese Foreign Minister visits Delhi Metro, expresses interest in the project.

Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi took a ride on the Delhi Metro today. He was accompanied by Japan’s Ambassador to India, Ono Keiichi. At the Central Secretariat Metro Station, senior officials of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) briefed the delegation in detail about various aspects of the Delhi Metro project.
The delegation then traveled on the Metro from Central Secretariat to Patel Chowk and returned along the same route.
According to DMRC, during the visit, the Japanese Foreign Minister expressed keen interest in the construction, operations, and technical aspects of the Delhi Metro. DMRC described the metro as a proud symbol of India–Japan friendship and cooperation.
It is noteworthy that the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has been providing financial support to the Delhi Metro project since its first phase.
Earlier in the day, Minister Motegi paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. He arrived in New Delhi on Thursday for his three-day official visit.
