Do you know Mahi? Recently, her story was widely covered in various media across the state. Ten-year-old Mahi from a remote area of Kanchanpur had been suffering from fever and various physical complications, and for the past five and a half months she had been undergoing treatment at GB Hospital. Thanks to the tireless efforts and care of the hospital’s doctors and healthcare workers, she has recovered to some extent. Her treatment process was extremely complex. After five and a half long months, she has improved somewhat, and she was recently discharged from GB Hospital.

At this point, a woman from the capital extended a helping hand to Mahi and her mother. Mahi’s mother calls her the “godmother.” As a result, after being discharged from the hospital, Mahi and her mother have taken shelter at that woman’s house. Now, for Mahi to become fully healthy and normal, she needs nutritious food — which requires money. But after staying at GB Hospital with her daughter for more than five and a half months, Mahi’s mother has become almost penniless. She also has a son studying in Class 10 back home in Kanchanpur, whom she cannot bring to Agartala due to lack of funds.

In this situation, Mahi’s mother made a heartfelt appeal to the Chief Minister and the people of the state for financial help.

Meanwhile, many people across the state want to help Mahi. However, due to certain procedural complications, they are reportedly unable to extend direct assistance to her family. Various groups believe that Mahi’s mother’s appeal will reach the Chief Minister and that he will take some action to support them.
