Miscreants Attack in Dharmanagar Rajbari Area!A group of miscreants unleashed terror at a businessman’s residence, looting cash and gold ornaments. Members of the family were injured during the attack

At around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, a group of armed miscreants launched an attack on the house of a businessman in Ward No. 13 of Dharmanagar Municipal Council’s Rajbari area.

According to local sources, around 50 masked assailants arrived in cars and motorbikes and suddenly stormed the residence. The house belongs to Shipon Chowdhury, a local businessman. Family members alleged that the miscreants, armed with sharp weapons, broke into the house, vandalized property, looted cash and gold ornaments, and destroyed furniture.

During the incident, Shipon Chowdhury’s uncle, Kazi Jahanara Begum’s brother-in-law, was injured. Kazi Jahanara Begum said, “The group suddenly entered our home and tried to kill us. All of them had their faces covered and were carrying sharp weapons.” She further mentioned that her son, Shipon, is currently in Kolkata for medical treatment.

A neighbor claimed to have identified one of the attackers, named Habiz, who is allegedly involved in drug trafficking. Initial suspicion suggests that the attack may have been triggered by an old dispute related to the drug trade. Hearing the family’s cries for help, local residents rushed to the scene, prompting the assailants to flee.

Soon after, Dharmanagar Police arrived and brought the situation under control. The angry crowd set fire to a motorbike left behind by the miscreants.

Since the incident, the Rajbari area has remained tense and on high alert. Police have launched an investigation and are working to identify and arrest the culprits.
