Political sparring has erupted between the BJP and the Tipra Motha over the attack incident at the BJP office construction site in Hejamara under the Simna Assembly constituency. In the incident that took place on Wednesday night, two BJP supporters were seriously injured. They have been identified as Dukhiya Debbarma and Hiron Debbarma. Both were shifted to GB Hospital the same night in critical condition.

On Thursday, while attending a program organized by party workers to celebrate his 72nd birthday, Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha strongly condemned the Wednesday night attack in Hejamara. The Chief Minister stated that police have been instructed to take action against those involved in the incident. He added that Motha leaders should understand that such kinds of politics are unacceptable.

On Thursday morning, State Minister Tinku Roy rushed to the hospital to see the injured. He spoke to them and also discussed their treatment with the doctors. Later, while speaking to the media, Minister Tinku Roy alleged that anti-social elements along with some leaders of the Motha from the concerned area had organized the attack in Hejamara on Wednesday night. He claimed that a BJP worker was struck on the head with a hammer and is currently undergoing treatment at GB Hospital in critical condition. He said he had come to the hospital to visit that injured BJP worker. Condemning the incident strongly, Minister Tinku Roy said such incidents are never acceptable. He further added that it is also unacceptable for a political party to continuously resort to violence, and mentioned that senior party leaders are thinking seriously about the matter.

Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview on Thursday, Tipra Motha spokesperson and former MLA Rajeshwar Debbarma also strongly condemned the Hejamara incident. He stated that the Motha party does not believe in violence and that such incidents are undesirable. He emphasized that everyone must unite to move the state forward by shunning violence. Demanding action against those involved, the Motha spokesperson said that there should be no motivated bias while taking administrative action.

Meanwhile, following the Hejamara incident, political tension has spread across the entire Mohanpur subdivision. A large contingent of police has been deployed in Hejamara, and the police administration is keeping a close watch on the situation.
