At the initiative of the Left-affiliated Kisan Morcha, a protest meeting was held in front of the CPI(M) Sonamura Sub-Divisional Committee office demanding the repeal of the Seeds Bill 2025 and the Electricity Bill 2025. Copies of the bills were also burnt during the demonstration.
All leaders of the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) at the divisional and regional levels, the mass organization aligned with the Left, joined the programme at around 10 a.m. on Monday.
As the workers united to burn copies of the bills, the area echoed with loud slogans.
During the event, Suresh Das, a leader of the All India Kisan Sabha from Sonamura subdivision, delivered a brief address.Among other notable leaders present were Abdul Karim, Sub-Divisional Secretary of the All India Kisan Sabha, Sonamura, CPI(M) State Committee member Ratan Saha, and around 70 to 80 party leaders and workers.
