Every year, Veer Bal Diwas is observed across the country on 26 December. The observance of this day began in 2022. The day is primarily dedicated to remembering the courage and sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s two younger sons, who stood firm to protect their faith.

On this occasion, a programme was organized on Friday at the Gurudwara located in Chanmari. Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha was present at the event. During the programme, the bravery of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s two younger sons was highlighted in detail.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that despite severe torture, Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s two sons remained unwavering in their faith, which carries important lessons. He said that this incident would enhance self-confidence among children and strengthen faith in religion as well as in oneself. The Chief Minister further stated that religion is a personal matter, and those who follow a faith should have firm belief in it.

He also mentioned that religious conversions have had a significant impact in West Pakistan, and similar effects were seen in Kashmir. Due to religious conversions, the population of Hindus, Sikhs, and other minority communities has declined considerably. He emphasized that social resistance must be built against this, and added that it is essential to raise one’s voice at both national and international levels on this issue.

Among those present at the programme were Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder, Minister Santana Chakma, BJP leader Papiya Dutta, and others.
