State Kisan Morcha Condemns Left Leader Pabitra Kar’s Remarks — BJP’s Farmers’ Wing Responds Strongly
Recently, Pabitra Kar, State Secretary of the All India Kisan Sabha, addressed a press conference where he alleged that despite the ongoing cultivation season, farmers in Tripura are not receiving adequate fertilizers and quality seeds.
In response, BJP Kisan Morcha State President Pradip Baran Roy sharply criticized the remarks made by the Left leader. Addressing the media, he stated that Pabitra Kar’s comments about the Agriculture Department are “baseless and fabricated stories.” He added that the Left leader, instead of understanding the actual situation by interacting with farmers, made false claims while sitting comfortably in air-conditioned rooms in Agartala.
Roy strongly condemned such misleading statements and accused Pabitra Kar of showing no real concern for farmers, pointing out that “when farmers face crises, leaders like him never visit them.” Referring to a recent incident, Roy said, “The day he went to Narsinghgarh, he faced public resistance and had to return.”
Highlighting the achievements of the government, the State Kisan Morcha president said that during the last seven and a half years of the state government and eleven years of the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, farmers have received the highest respect and priority. He asserted that both Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha and Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath are ensuring every possible support for farmers in Tripura.
Roy further clarified that there is no shortage of fertilizers in the state, saying, “Not even for a single day has there been any deficit. There is ample stock, and fresh consignments are regularly arriving by train.” He also mentioned that Tripura currently offers the lowest fertilizer prices in the entire country, made possible because of the farmer-friendly government in power.
He added that the state government is continuously working for the development and welfare of farmers, and as part of that mission, 144 agricultural markets have been constructed across Tripura, involving an expenditure of ₹303.44 crore to strengthen rural market infrastructure.
