The teachers under the Samagra Shiksha Project of Tripura are yet to be regularized. Regarding this issue, the Tripura State Samagra Shiksha Employees’ Association had filed a writ petition in the Division Bench of the High Court in 2021.
In this case, the Division Bench of the High Court, on July 16, 2024, directed the state government that for teachers appointed under Samagra Shiksha before July 29, 2011, there is no requirement of TET or D.El.Ed qualifications for regularization.
However, later in 2024, the state government filed an SLP (Special Leave Petition) in the Supreme Court challenging the High Court’s verdict.
The Tripura State Samagra Shiksha Employees’ Association, affiliated with the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), has been continuing its movement demanding withdrawal of the SLP and immediate regularization of Samagra Shiksha teachers in the state.
As part of this movement, the organization on Wednesday submitted a deputation to the Director of Elementary Education of the state government.
All members of the Tripura State Samagra Shiksha Employees’ Association took part in this program. Speaking to the media, the Samagra Shiksha teachers of Tripura reiterated their demand for immediate regularization in line with the High Court’s directive.
