Several initiatives have been undertaken to engage school-level students with science, one of which is the Students’ Project Program. This year, the program entered its 8th edition, with the central theme being “Technology for Sustainable Development.”
Based on this theme, the 8th Students’ Project Program was held on Wednesday at Pragya Bhavan in the capital city. The event was organized by the Tripura State Council for Science and Technology under the State Government’s Department of Science, Technology, and Environment.

The Minister for Science and Technology, Animesh Debbarma, attended the program as the chief guest. Also present were Chaitanya Murti, Secretary of the Department of Science, Technology, and Environment, Mahendra Singh, Director of the Department, and several other dignitaries. The program was inaugurated by Minister Animesh Debbarma himself.
Speaking at the event, the Minister said that the department has taken the initiative to promote science among students. The aim is to encourage students to get involved with science from an early age and to inspire them to design simple technological innovations on their own. To support this, the department will provide financial assistance to students.
He further mentioned that students from various educational institutions have showcased their scientific and technological models developed over the past year, and those with the best projects will be awarded.
Minister Animesh Debbarma also stated that programs like this are being organized to prepare students for participation in national-level science exhibitions. The enthusiasm and excitement among the students present at the event were truly noteworthy.
