During the protest, members of the organization held placards and raised slogans, demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits and strict punishment. They alleged that after a brutal attack that took place in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on December 9, Angel Chakma—an outstanding tribal student from Machmara in Unakoti district of Tripura—succumbed to his injuries on December 26 while undergoing treatment. In the same incident, his younger brother, Michael Chakma, was also seriously injured.

Even after a long time has passed since the incident, no appropriate action has yet been taken against the real culprits.

According to the All India DSO leadership, the death of Angel Chakma is a grave incident, and justice cannot be served unless those involved are given exemplary punishment. They demanded that the administration immediately initiate an impartial investigation and ensure a speedy judicial process.
