The All Tripura Blood Committee observed the birth anniversary of Louis Braille.

Sunday marked the birth anniversary of Louis Braille, the pioneer of the Braille system of writing for visually impaired persons. The Braille system is based on six raised dots, which help identify letters through touch. This year, his 218th birth anniversary is being celebrated across the world.


On Sunday, the All Tripura Blind Committee observed the 218th birth anniversary of Louis Braille. On this occasion, a program was organized at the Agartala Press Club. Speaking about the event, the General Secretary of the All Tripura Blind Committee, Sanjay Dhan Bhowmik, said that Louis Braille was the great creator of the writing system for visually impaired persons.


To mark his birth anniversary, various programs were arranged. During the event, successful athletes from the North East Para Olympics will be felicitated. In addition, a laptop will be presented to the most successful trainee from the computer training program conducted jointly by Nab Diganta Club and the All Tripura Blind Committee for visually impaired persons.


On the same day, as part of the celebrations, musical chairs and other attractive sports activities were organized for visually impaired persons.
