A district-level program celebrating 150 years of “Vande Mataram” was held on Friday at Ambassa Town Hall under Dhalai district. The event was inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu.

Among those present were Sudhanshu Das, Minister of Scheduled Castes Welfare, Animal Resource Development and Fisheries; Swpna Das Pal, MLA; Sushmita Das, Chairperson of the District Council; and Vivek H. B., District Magistrate and Collector of Dhalai, along with several other distinguished guests.

At the beginning of the program, the Governor, other guests, and everyone present in the hall joined the school students in singing the “Vande Mataram” song in unison. Afterwards, the attendees watched the national-level program that was broadcast live from Delhi.

In his address, the Governor highlighted the history of the “Vande Mataram” song to the students. He said that the song was the anthem of the freedom fighters’ hearts, composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay and first sung by Rabindranath Tagore.
Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu enjoyed the event and graced it with his warm and cordial presence.
