During the winter session of Parliament, former Chief Minister of the state and current Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb raised several issues related to the interests of the state. He highlighted these matters at a press conference held on Thursday.

Addressing the media, he said that 11 road projects are currently underway in the state. Some of these road construction projects have become subject to legal cases, which are presently under judicial consideration. He further informed that a proposal worth ₹30 crore has been sent to the Central Government for the development of Bilonia’s Jogmaya Kalibari, Rajrajeswari Kalibari at Muhuripur, and Dwaiteshwari Kalibari at Sabroom.

He also stated that work had earlier begun on the issue of international air connectivity keeping Bangladesh in mind. However, considering the current situation in Bangladesh, a letter has been sent to the Union Minister for Civil Aviation requesting the introduction of international flight services by connecting the Guwahati–Bangkok international route with Agartala’s MBB Airport.

In response to a question at the press conference, the former Chief Minister and current Lok Sabha MP said that the BJP has an alliance with Tipra Motha in the state Assembly. He added that the final decision on whether this alliance will continue in the upcoming ADC elections will be taken by the central leadership.

At the press conference, MP Biplab Kumar Deb also informed that he has arranged ₹32,40,259 from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for 14 individuals from the state. In addition, he has provided 19 water treatment plants to various schools.
