In celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a two-phase Padayatra will be organized in the West District.
The first phase of the Padayatra will be held on November 10, starting at 7 a.m. from the Ujjayanta Palace premises and concluding at the Hapania International Fair Ground. Hon’ble Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Tinku Roy, and Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Bhattacharjee, among others, will participate in the event.
The second phase of the Padayatra will take place on November 24, beginning from the Gandhi statue near the Circuit House and ending at Narayanpur.
A preparatory meeting regarding the Padayatra was held at the Office of the District Magistrate, West Tripura, where District Magistrate, Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Biswajit Shil, and other officials were present. The final decisions for the successful organization of the program were taken in this meeting.
