Through events like this, the state’s tourism centres will be promoted and expanded. Tripura has become a meeting point for people of both non-tribal and tribal communities. Along with promoting their own heritage and culture, the Unity Promo Fest is playing an important role in the development of the tourism industry. Such events will help in the publicity and expansion of the state’s tourist destinations. Speaking at the inauguration of the two-day Unity Promo Fest, which began on Saturday at the grounds of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar College in Belonia, Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu said this.
In his inaugural address, Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given special emphasis on the promotion and expansion of tourist destinations in the northeastern states. The potential tourism sectors of the northeastern states are being showcased across different states of the country through exhibitions. As a result, the number of tourists visiting the northeastern states is steadily increasing. The Tourism Department of the state has also been taking various new initiatives throughout the year to attract tourists from India and abroad. The Governor wished success for the Unity Promo Fest.
Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that the Unity Promo Fest has been launched to promote the mixed culture of non-tribal and tribal communities and to boost the tourism industry of the state. Last year, due to the overwhelming enthusiasm and excitement at the Promo Fest held in four districts, this year the districts of South Tripura and Gomati have been added, making it a two-day Unity Promo Fest across six districts. The objective of organizing the Promo Fest is to showcase the state’s heritage and culture at national and international levels and to create employment opportunities through the tourism industry. Events like this will help promote and expand the state’s tourism centers, creating employment and income opportunities.
Also present at the event were South Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Deepak Dutta, MLAs Pramod Reang, Mailaflu Mog, Swapna Majumder, South Tripura District Magistrate Md. Sajjad P, Superintendent of Police Maurya Krishna C, and others. The event was presided over by Belonia Municipal Council Chairperson Nikhil Chandra Gope.
