On Tuesday, Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu arrived in Kailashahar, the district headquarters of Unakoti, for a one-day visit. Throughout the day, he participated in several programs across the Kailashahar subdivision. The main purpose of his visit was to inspect different areas along the India–Bangladesh international border and to speak with residents living in the border regions.
After resting at the Circuit House in Kailashahar at around 10:30 a.m., the Governor began his field visits at noon. His first stop was the Chauddha Debata (Fourteen Gods) Temple in the border village of Khawra Bill, where he offered prayers and then interacted with local farmers in the temple’s Natmandir (assembly hall).
The discussion meeting was attended by several dignitaries, including State Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma, Unakoti District Magistrate Dr. Tamal Majumder, Superintendent of Police Sudhambika R., along with other officials and public representatives.
In his address, the Governor stated that he would visit the India–Bangladesh border areas of Kailashahar and interact with local people to assess whether they were receiving the benefits of various Central and State Government schemes. He mentioned that he would review the implementation of initiatives such as household toilets, houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, LPG connections under Ujjwala Yojana, health insurance, and agricultural support like free seeds and fertilizers.
After the discussion, the Governor visited the India–Bangladesh international border at Debipur, inspected stalls set up by self-help groups at the BSF BOP (Border Outpost) in Latiyapura village, and interacted with local farmers. He later proceeded to visit the Sofrikandi border area as part of his itinerary.
