The Rubber National Award 2025 ceremony was organised at Pragya Bhavan in Agartala. Present at the event were Santana Chakma, Minister of Industries and Commerce; Kiran Gitte, Secretary of the Industries and Commerce Department; N. Sali, Rubber Production Commissioner; and M. Basantagesan, Executive Director of the Rubber Board. The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Santana Chakma and other distinguished guests.

The MRube Best Performer award was presented for the highest volume of transactions conducted through MRube, the Rubber Board’s online trading platform for natural rubber. Markets achieving the highest number of trades in various categories were awarded ₹250,000 in cash along with a certificate of appreciation. The objective is to encourage greater participation and promote trade through the platform.

Launched by the Rubber Board in 2022, the MRube electronic trading platform has received an overwhelming response from stakeholders. Since its inception, it has facilitated the trade of over 43,500 tonnes of natural rubber through approximately 2,700 contracts, amounting to nearly ₹2,680 crore.

Addressing the gathering, Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma said that the state government is making significant progress to advance the rubber industry. Tripura now holds the second position in rubber production in India, and the government is working with a vision to further strengthen and expand the sector.
