The scope of the 36th Tripura Industrial and Trade Fair will be expanded, claims the authorities.

The Tripura Industrial and Trade Fair will begin this year on January 29 and will continue till February 12. This year, the fair is entering its 36th edition. On Sunday, the stall booking portal for the 36th Tripura Industrial and Trade Fair was inaugurated. On this occasion, a press conference was organized at the TIDC Conference Hall in Gurkhabasti, Agartala.

Officials from the Tripura Industries and Commerce Department and the Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) addressed the press conference. Representing the organizers, official Mihir Sarkar informed that the fair will be held for 15 days, from January 29 to February 12. The fair will be open daily from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

He further stated that cultural programmes and children’s events will be organized every evening at the International Fair Ground in Hapania during the fair period. He also announced that the scope of the fair will be expanded this year, with an increase in the number of outstation and international stalls.

It may be mentioned that during the 35th Tripura Industrial and Trade Fair, the total number of stalls was 576, of which 46 were from outside the state, and there were three international stalls. Last year, business transactions worth around ₹8 crore were recorded at the fair. In view of this, various quarters believe that with the expansion of the fair this year, the number of stalls will increase, leading to a further rise in business turnover.
