Tripura is emerging as a hub for education and healthcare, says the Chief Minister.

As part of the New Education Policy, Personalised Adaptive Learning Labs have been launched in 210 government and government-aided schools in Tripura. The initiative was formally inaugurated by the Chief Minister at a programme held at Maharani Tulsibati Higher Secondary Girls’ School, Agartala, where he inaugurated the state-of-the-art lab.
The programme was attended by Secretary of the School Education Department Dr. Milind Ramteke, Director N. C. Sharma, Director of Elementary Education Rajib Dutta, SCERT Director L. Darlong, along with other senior officials. The Chief Minister inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp and later formally opened the advanced learning lab by cutting the ribbon.
While addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that significant changes and numerous facilities have been introduced in the state’s education system. Under the Atmanirbhar Yojana, 140 girl students have been provided with scooters. A special scholarship has also been introduced for visually impaired persons with disabilities, which has so far benefited 23 students. Under the ‘Lakshya’ scheme, 10 aspirants preparing for the IAS examination are being given financial assistance.
He further stated that earlier there were only 12–13 MBBS seats in the state, whereas now the number has increased to 450 medical seats. Previously, there was only one BDS seat, but now the Government Dental College has 63 seats. Efforts are underway to further increase medical seats by another 100 to 200, he added.

Speaking about tribal education, the Chief Minister said that earlier there were only four Eklavya Model Residential Schools, but now 21 such schools are being constructed. Teaching has already begun in 12 schools, and six more schools will become operational by March. He also mentioned that he has discussed with the central government in Delhi the need for some flexibility in the criteria to establish 15 more Eklavya Model Schools.
The Chief Minister asserted that no compromise will be tolerated in the education sector. He also informed that ₹75 crore each has been sanctioned for setting up Ayurvedic and Homeopathic colleges. Emphasising the government’s vision, he said that Tripura is being developed as a hub for education and healthcare.
During the programme at Maharani Tulsibati Higher Secondary Girls’ School, students from 209 other government and government-aided schools participated through video conferencing. The Chief Minister extended his congratulations to all those students as well.
