Recently, the contract workers associated with the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) submitted a deputation to the project authorities based on their three-point demands. Their demands are: immediate implementation of EPF, cancellation of the outsourcing-based recruitment process, and granting departmental staff status to workers appointed through outsourcing. A deputation regarding these three demands was submitted by the TRLM Employees’ Association to the project authorities. However, the organization has not seen any positive response to this deputation so far.

Therefore, through a press conference, the association drew the attention of the state government and the concerned project director to fulfill these demands without delay. At the press conference, Akash Chakraborty, General Secretary of the TRLM Employees’ Association under BMS, stated that if these three demands are not fulfilled immediately, they will launch a larger statewide agitation in the coming days.

Present at the press conference were Palash Rudra Pal, President of the TRLM Employees’ Association, and Tanmoy Sutradhar, Assistant Office Secretary of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh’s state committee. Speaking at the event, BMS Assistant Office Secretary Tanmoy Sutradhar said that on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the implementation of the Labour Codes by consolidating 29 labour laws into four labour codes. He described this as a historic step.
