TTDC’s 17th Run for Tea and Cross Country Event

As in previous years, the Tripura Tea Development Corporation (TTDC) is set to organize the “Run for Tea” event this year as well. The Run for Tea will be held on December 17. The event is being jointly organized by the Tea Board of India and TTDC.


The Run for Tea will begin at 6:30 a.m. on December 17 from in front of the Bir Chandra State Central Library in the capital. This year, along with the Run for Tea, TTDC is also organizing a three-kilometre cross-country race. This information was shared by TTDC Chairman Samir Ghosh during a press conference on Monday.


He informed that the event will be attended by the State Minister for Industries and Commerce, Santana Chakma, the Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare, Tinku Roy, along with other officials.


The chairman further stated that the cross-country race has been introduced this year along with the Run for Tea. Prize money for the cross-country race winners has been fixed at ₹5,000 for first place, ₹3,000 for second place, and ₹2,000 for third place. In addition, consolation prizes will be awarded to the top ten participants in the cross-country race.


Chairman Samir Ghosh appealed for everyone’s cooperation to make the event a success. The press conference was also attended by TTDC Managing Director Subrata Das and Assistant Managing Director Kishore Dutta.
