Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the attack on doctors and nurses.

Recently, an incident of assault on doctors and nurses took place at the state’s main referral hospital, GB Hospital. The incident occurred in the female medicine ward of the hospital. The altercation reportedly began over a demand for a wheelchair to take a patient for an X-ray.

Following the incident, the GB Hospital authorities filed an FIR at the NCC Police Station. Based on the complaint, the NCC police registered a case and launched an investigation. During the probe, police arrested two youths accused of being involved in the attack on the medical staff. The arrested individuals have been identified as Abhijit Shil and Abhijit Das, both residents of Kakraban area under Udaipur subdivision.

Officer-in-Charge Prajit Malakar confirmed the arrests, adding that the police will produce the accused before the court on Tuesday and seek police remand.

The arrest of the accused has brought a sense of relief and satisfaction among all levels of health workers at GB Hospital. The healthcare staff have also demanded strict and exemplary action against those involved in the assault.
