Two more accused have been arrested in the sensational Jiban Das murder case of Kathalia! The arrested individuals are Jayanta Tripura and Kantamani Tripura. So far, the police have arrested a total of three people.

In the murder case of a youth named Jiban Das from Thlibari ADC Village, the police—though delayed—have managed to arrest three accused. One of them is from Microsha Para, and the other two are from Thlibari ADC Village. After producing them before the court, the police took two of them on three days’ remand. Their names are Jayanta Tripura (17 years old), Kantamani Tripura, and the third accused, Gaya Tripura.

In an exclusive interview on Wednesday, Jatrapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Siti Kantha Bardhan said that on 21 October, on the occasion of Diwali, Jiban had gone at night to Microsha Para under Jagat Rampur to watch the Kali Puja.

The next morning, around 8 a.m., local residents saw his body tied to a rubber tree. The police recovered the body and sent it to the Kathalia Community Health Centre for post-mortem. It took many days for the report to arrive.

After receiving the report, the police began a detailed investigation. Based on this investigation, the three accused were detained.

Now the key question remains: Why was he murdered, and who else might be involved?All of this will be revealed as the investigation progresses.
