Tensions erupted on Saturday over the Left leadership's membership drive and fundraising drive in Bhagalpur area under Narsinghar police station. When former minister and senior CPM leader Pavitra Kar went to campaign for the Krishak Sabha, he faced strong protests from local residents.

According to local sources, Left leaders were campaigning door-to-door throughout the day to renew the membership of the All India Farmers' Congress and collect financial donations. But at that time, many villagers surrounded them and asked them, "What have you done for the farmers after being in power for 25 years? Why are you asking for money again now?"

According to witnesses at the scene, the two sides argued for several minutes and the situation became increasingly heated. Later, facing the anger of the locals, the CPM leaders withdrew from there. According to a section of the political community, this incident is a clear indication of the people's loss of trust in the Left in Tripura. The anger among the common people is growing due to the failure to fulfill the promises of farmers and rural development during the long Left rule.

The experience of the Left leaders in Bhagalpur, Narsinghar, proved that the Left Front's public base in Tripura is gradually eroding, and the people are still ready to respond to the negligence and injustice of the past.
