With the aim of instilling unity and patriotism among future generations, reminding citizens of their duties toward the nation, and paying tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the 150th Unity March Rally was organized in the capital on Monday.

The rally started from in front of the Ujjayanta Palace and moved through various routes of the city. The event was graced by the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of the state, Professor Dr. Manik Saha, BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee, and several other leaders of the state BJP unit.

While addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha said, “Our youth must embrace the ideals of Ek Bharat, Atmanirbhar Bharat not just in words but also in their daily lives and social activities. We must ensure that these values are deeply rooted in their actions.”

He further mentioned that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel played a crucial role in preserving the unity and integrity of the nation. After India’s independence, between 1947 and 1949, he integrated nearly 562 princely states into the Indian Union — a monumental task that laid the foundation of a united India.

The Chief Minister also stated that the deserving respect toward Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel has been duly recognized since 2014 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It was Prime Minister Modi who declared October 31 as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day). Before this, no other Prime Minister had shown such lasting reverence toward Sardar Patel. Moreover, Prime Minister Modi has always ensured due respect to all the brave heroes who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The Chief Minister also mentioned that the Run for Unity initiative was launched by the Government of India as a mark of respect to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and his immense contribution to national integration.

He further highlighted that in 2018, the world’s tallest statue — the Statue of Unity — was constructed on the banks of the Narmada River in Gujarat to honor Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and to inspire patriotism and the vision of a prosperous India among the people.

The rally witnessed remarkable enthusiasm and participation among party workers and citizens alike.
