The current government of India and the Tripura government are talking about creating a drug-free country and state, yet a huge amount of narcotics are entering the state of Tripura through the Indian Railways run by this government. A glaring example of this is the discovery of a large quantity of narcotics from two carriages of a freight train at the Jirania railway station near Agartala on October 15.

A section of leaders and workers of the ruling party are involved in this smuggling trade, according to the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee. In view of this allegation, a protest program was organized in the capital Agartala on Sunday under the leadership of the Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress and the Tripura Pradesh Women's Congress. In addition, a letter was sent to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, asking how narcotics were reaching the state of Tripura in government trains. Demands were made to investigate and arrest those involved in the drug trade and give exemplary punishment. On this day, leaders and activists led by the President of the Provincial Youth Congress, Neelkamal Saha, and the leader of the Provincial Mahila Congress, Sarbanir Ghosh Chakraborty, staged a protest in front of the post office in the capital, Agartala And the Union Railway Minister Ashwini sent a letter to Vaishnav. At this time, Youth Congress President Neelkamal Saha told the media, "We all know that October 15 is a black day in the history of the state." Because on this day, two wagons full of banned drugs entered the state from outside the state in love. But so far, it has not been possible to arrest anyone involved in this drug trafficking trade. While the government has pledged to make the country and state drug-free, the largest number of drugs are entering the state. And it is passing through to other states. The state is being used as a corridor by its seven traffickers for this purpose. Neelkamal Saha further alleged that the leaders of the Pradesh Yuva Morcha had at various times talked about building a drug-free Tripura by holding bike rallies and processions. But after this incident, they did not make any sound and remained silent. He also made serious allegations that some sections of these leaders are involved in drug trafficking. They also informed the Union Railway Minister that they have given 15 days to respond to this incident. They also said that if the central government does not respond, they will go on a larger movement. Police have launched an investigation into the incident of a large quantity of narcotics being smuggled by train. However, no major arrests have been made yet in connection with the incident. It remains to be seen how the incident will turn in the wake of the Congress's agitation.
