Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will deliver state-of-the-art deep-sea fishing vessels to the Mazarganj Dock in Mumbai tomorrow. This will mark a historic moment in cooperative deep-sea fishing, reflecting India's commitment to self-reliance, sustainable development, and empowerment of cooperatives in the fisheries sector.
This deep-sea fishing vessel, which costs Rs 1.2 crore per unit, is being distributed among the beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). The project has been financially supported by the Government of Maharashtra, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) and the Union Department of Fisheries. This initiative reflects the government's commitment, which will play a significant role in realizing the dream of a self-reliant India and strengthening the Blue Economy.
